Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to browse and buy from SHOPTHIVA, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Our aim
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across shopthiva.com. We check new pages and features against them as we build, and we review the shop regularly.
What we do
- Pages are built to be used with a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are.
- Product photographs carry text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Buttons and links are named for what they do, including the icon buttons in the header and the menu bar on phones.
- Text and labels are checked for colour contrast, and pages are built to reflow when you zoom in.
- Moving content, such as the announcement bar and photo galleries, can be paused or moved by hand, and animation is reduced if your device asks for less motion.
- Product photos can be zoomed by pinching, and every photo can also be opened full screen.
- Checkout uses Stripe's payment form, which is built to work with screen readers and autofill.
What we are still improving
- Some product photographs come from our makers and may not describe every detail, such as the exact shade of a colour. The product description and colour name always state it in words.
- A few older journal articles have not yet been reviewed against the guidelines.
Tell us about a problem
If anything on the shop is hard to use, or you need information in another format, please contact us or email support@shopthiva.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will reply within two working days. We can also take your order by email if you cannot complete it online.
